The Gestelsestraat forms the border of the Schrijversbuurt. The street is a side street of the perhaps even more famous Hoogstraat. Where the Gestelsestraat splits off from this street, the street scene is cozy and very attractive with small stores and restaurants. It is not for nothing that the corner cafe 't Rozenknopje and the beautiful Sacred Heart Church a little further down the street have determined the image in this part of Eindhoven for decades. For the true Eindhoven inhabitant these two objects characterize the junction between the Hoogstraat and the Gestelsestraat. It can be added that it is of course great to live so close to the city center. The center is very easy to reach through the aforementioned Hoogstraat. In this street there is an Albert Heijn and a Jumbo supermarket, among others, but this street has been known in Eindhoven for years as a shopping area with a very large diversity of small stores and cozy restaurants. It can therefore rightly be said that it is wonderful living in this exceptionally beautiful part of Eindhoven, because the Gestelsestraat is not only centrally located with respect to stores and restaurants. Nature lovers will find plenty to enjoy in one of the nearby (walking) parks, including the beautiful Dommelplantsoen/Stadswandelpark. Adjacent to these two green areas is the City Theatre where culture lovers can indulge. The cozy, bustling city center is easily accessible by public transport and from the Central Station you can reach the rest of the Netherlands. But you can also get there by car, because the already mentioned Hoogstraat is also one of the important roads leading to the south of the city, making the extensive freeway network around the city very easily accessible. Finally, the Gestelsestraat is also a short distance from the High Tech Campus, ASML and Eindhoven Airport, and even the TUE, Fontys Universities of Applied Sciences and several larger offices above the railroad tracks are within a few minutes cycling distance.
